Shoal Bay foreshore reopens after Refurbishment

News and Events September 2021

In September 2020 Port Stephens Council teamed up with Place Score to complete their first ever place census.  Over 3,700 people told us what they value and how they rate their neighbourhood.  The results of the Shoal Bay respondents is shown in the attached pdf.

The results will be used to help plan and make decisions that will have the biggest impact on the community.

Shoal Bay Beach Erosion

The last two weather events have caused considerable beach erosion giving fears that further weather events could impact on Shoal Bay Road the only vehicular  access to the peninsular.

An onsite meeting was arranged between the Association's Committee and Port Stephens Council attended by the Mayor, General Manager and Senior Executive.

On visiting the site Council has declared the potential future erosion an "emergency issue" and has instigated an immediate a mitigation design program and applied for NSW State funding to address situation.
